The Old Vicarage Apartment

Beautifully renovated and furnished the apartment is situated on the 1st floor of the historic Old Vicarage, an imposing Georgian building set in the heart of the picturesque village of Godshill. Originally the property formed part of the Church farm estate but is now under private ownership. Currently the house and grounds are divided into the owner’s accommodation, the guest apartment, a retail outlet and the famous 1.5 acre Model Village.

  • The guest accommodation comprises 1 double bedroom with ensuite; 1 twin bedroom; a large family bathroom; spacious lounge and kitchen/breakfast room.
  • You can enjoy unrivalled views across our gardens and included in your stay will be unlimited visits to the Model Village during opening hours.
  • We will provide a Welcome Basket for your arrival that will include local goodies.

The fully equipped apartment is furnished to a very high standard so you will find this is the perfect base for exploring the Island on foot, bike or car!

Godshill’s central location ensures you have a short distance to travel to any of the Island sights. The beaches of Shanklin, Sandown and Ventnor are all within 15 minutes drive and you can also travel further a field to the West Wight in less than half an hour.

There are plenty of walks within a stones throw of Godshill. You can explore the source of the River Yar, trek up to the Worsley Monument (the current record to run there & back is 30 minutes…beat it if you can!), take on the challenge of the Tennyson Trail (cross Island Walk – 4 hrs 58 minutes – can you beat that one!) or just pop down the road to the local watering hole.

With our local knowledge we can help you find all kinds of outdoor activities from paragliding, sailing, mountain biking to gentle walks to burn off those holiday calories!

Accommodation Summary.

  • 7 day breaks running Friday to Friday
  • Check in from 2.00pm on day of arrival
  • Check out up to 10.00 on day of departure

Local Area Information

Godshill is one of the most photographed villages on the Island. It is quintessentially English with thatched cottages, tearooms and gift shops…and of course the amazing Model Village!

The village has 2 pubs and a restaurant – all within easy walking distance of The Old Vicarage Apartment. Nearby towns and villages also boast some great eating places and we are happy to point you in the right direction based on our experiences!

For the self-caterers the local shop provides the basics, with Sainsburys and Morrisons in Newport or Tescos a 30-minute drive to Ryde.
