English Oak
Avenue of English Oak Trees ( Quercus Robur “Pedunculata”)

Our English Oaks sit on both sides of the path leading down the garden from St. Blasius. The east side is part of the original planting in 1952, west side replanted to widen the path in early 1990’s. We have 50 in total around the garden.

The Oaks break bud twice a year and are pruned with shears and secateurs 2 to 4 times a year depending on growth.

Fred’s tip – don’t worry about the powdery mildew in late summer as these trees in the wild cope.
