Streaker Returning… with a New Mission

We've been genuinely overwhelmed by the response following a media story about our Streaker.
For many years, she has been a familiar character on our miniature football pitch, bringing a smile to generations of visitors. Earlier this year we chose not to include her in the display after reflecting on changing visitor expectations and the fact that the original joke has become less familiar to younger generations.
The conversation that followed has shown just how fond many people are of this tiny figure and the sense of humour she represents. Thank you to everyone who has taken part in our Facebook and Instagram poll and to those that shared their thoughts so respectfully.
We've decided she will be returning to the Model Village—but with a twist, as we want her return to do some good.
Instead of standing on the football pitch, she will be popping up in different locations around the gardens throughout the season. Visitors will have to keep their eyes peeled to spot where she's hiding next.
Each appearance will help raise awareness and funds for our chosen Breast Cancer charity. It feels like a fitting way for one of our most talked-about residents to support an important cause. The Breast Friends Isle of Wight are our chosen charity and you can read more about the excellent work they do by clicking here.
At Model Village Godshill we've always loved our hidden jokes and quirky characters for visitors to discover. Our streaker will continue that tradition in a fresh way that we hope people of all ages can enjoy.
If you spot her during your visit, let us know—and help us support an amazing charity.
